Ocean Therapy – using Blue Spaces to unlock Silent MAYDAYS

Our first Ocean Therapy programme, for 10 children struggling with their mental health and anxiety, will start in June 2026. The Beach Company Watersports Centre in Littlehampton is the location of our first Blue Space. This has been made possible by the referral support of the Arun district council and local educational and NHS bodies.

Delivering on our campaign

Following the successful Kickstarter campaign and pre-sales, Silent MAYDAY, now published, includes 1,000 extra copies to be used to support those suffering from mental health issues, anxiety, and PTSD. Details on how to obtain copies and participate in this initiative are available here.

This next chapter, sparked by Silent MAYDAY, is to raise awareness, make a positive impact, and transform a powerful story into meaningful action.

Why Ocean Therapy?

The book Silent MAYDAY marked the beginning of this journey. It was time spent on the Ocean that finally broke through twenty-five years of suppressed anxiety and shame, allowing the author to write the book.

ALL proceed from the book are funding ‘Ocean Therapy programmes’ for those suffering with their mental health, anxiety and PTSD. Every book purchased pays for an hour of Ocean Therapy for someone who really needs it.

The programmes involve activities on the Ocean, using the power of wind and surf,  over a six-week course with professional support and mentoring. They are held in group two-hour sessions over six weeks.

Many of us know the benefits of teaching and mentoring others on the Ocean, helping them push themselves in new directions. This program is now endorsed by NHS bodies in the UK and other countries, with growing collaboration through evidence-backed studies. We have been working hard, working with councils and educational and health bodies to construct a path, especially for children, who would most benefit from these programmes.

When is the first programme?

The first programme is fully funded and will begin in June 2026 at the Beach Company watersports centre in Littlehampton, Arun. We are now raising money for more programmes. PLEASE HELP US HELP OTHERS BY DONATING TO A BOOK and unlocking another Silent Mayday.
